What We Do

PRESSURE WASHING Overview

Pressure washing, also known as power washing, is a cleaning method that utilizes high-pressure water spray to remove dirt, grime, mold, mildew, and other unwanted substances from surfaces. It is commonly used for cleaning exterior surfaces such as buildings, sidewalks, driveways, decks, and vehicles. Pressure washing equipment typically consists of a motorized pump that pressurizes water and a nozzle or wand to direct the spray onto the targeted surface. The high-pressure stream of water effectively loosens and removes stubborn stains and buildup, restoring surfaces to their original cleanliness. Pressure washing is valued for its efficiency, versatility, and ability to quickly and effectively clean a wide range of surfaces. However, it's important to use the appropriate pressure settings and techniques to avoid damaging delicate surfaces or causing injury.
Sunbrite Powerwashing offers pressure washing for the correct surfaces. You should never be using a high PSI pressure tip against any types of siding in general. Some Nozzles/tips can even etch concrete.

Numerous techniques are required for properly cleaning home exteriors and preparing for painting. There are many causes for the staining that occurs and not all power washing contractors practice the same methods of cleaning. As with other trades, homeowners and consumers should be selective when choosing providers to avoid service issues that result from improper washing procedures and inexperience. Call Sunbrite to get it done right.

Common Home Exterior Problems

  • Green Mold & Algae

Usually found on the north side of homes, decking or concrete, and anywhere that is shaded for periods during the day. It can cause or worsen allergy symptoms and respiratory problems. Fully removable.

  • Black Mold

Commonly grows on gutter faces, soffits, window trim, and can spread via soffits/vents into the attic and other areas inside the home. The worst type of mold can cause serious allergy symptoms and respiratory problems. Fully removable.

  • Gutter Streaking

Faint vertical lines caused by rainwater running over the edge of your gutters. Minerals from the shingle substrate & acid rain bond to the surface of your gutter and become sealed in by oxidation. Fully removable.

  • Rust Stains

Most commonly result from a rusty chimney cap or improper fasteners that are not stainless or galvanized. The sooner a rust stain is taken care of, the better the chance of removal. Prevention is the best treatment.

  • Artillery Fungus

These are the tiny black specs on your siding that you can feel with your fingernail. This type of fungus comes from contaminated mulch beds around the home and permanently adheres to your siding. We cannot remove artillery fungus.

Thorough Inspection

Upon arriving at your home, we will make a thorough inspection of the work area to make sure no windows are open, and sensitive items are away from the work area. We take extra precautions so that our hoses do not affect any landscaping, garden areas, or other objects near the home. We perform any requested roof treatments and/or gutter cleaning services before any power washing.

Exclusive Detergent Solution

At this time, all landscaping surrounding the work area will be wet down with water. We will then apply our exclusive detergent solution and mildew-preventative treatment to your home's exterior, including all siding, trim, window casings, gutter faces, and soffits. We clean one section of your home at a time. Detergent is allowed to dwell for several minutes allowing the mold to soften to eliminate all growth.

Stubborn Areas will be Scrubbed

While waiting for the detergent to dwell on gutter faces, stubborn areas will be scrubbed with a brush to ensure flawless results. Each section is then thoroughly rinsed to remove dead mold and detergent, leaving your home looking like new! All landscaping is rinsed with fresh water again during this phase as a preventative measure.

PRESSURE WASHING FAQs

  • Why soft washing is better?

Stay Clean Power Washing is much different from our competition. We are one of the few companies that use a specialized low pressure cleaning technique called soft washing and the only company with a specialized roof cleaning boom lift. A soft wash is the only method of cleaning that should be used on any type of siding and on any type of roof. Soft washing uses a cleaning solution and the power of a concentrated hose to remove all of the dirt, mildew, mold and algae along with some scrubbing in the more stained areas. Some companies use 3200 PSI and up to clean homes, but they can end up causing more damage than good. Yes your house may look clean, at least to what the eye can see, but behind the vinyl or wood is now saturated with water that was forced through the seams and vent holes. This water behind the vinyl can then create mold and algae growth where you cant see, causing you more money down the road in repairs and potentially unhealthy living conditions. AND EVEN WORSE, they didn’t even kill the mold, mildew or algae, they just blew what you could see off of the surface. If you don’t kill the mold, mildew and algae, it will start to grow again in less than a year. Our soft wash process penetrates through to the root systems and actually kills the growths.
